Information on the Jongmyo Daeje Event in 2012 International Cultural Event Jongmyo Grand Festival
I would like to thank the people for their interest and affection in World Heritage Jongmyo.
The Jongmyo Daeje Festival, co-hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation and organized by the Jongmyo Daejebong Committee (Jongmyo Jerye Preservation Association and Jongmyo Jeryeak Preservation Association), will be held at Jongmyo on May 6, 2012.
Jongmyo Daeje, an important intangible cultural property No. 56, is an unprecedented traditional ritual where you can enjoy tangible and intangible world heritage together, and this year marks the 11th anniversary of Jongmyoje's inclusion on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
On the day of the event, the Jongmyo Grand Festival will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., followed by the Eoga Procession leading to Gyeongbokgung → Sejong-ro Intersection → Jongro 1,2,3ga → Jongmyo (Jaegung), Yeongnyeongjeon Hall from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Jeongjeon Hall from 4:30 p.m.
On May 6, 2012, the Jongmyo Shrine will be open for free, and you can watch Jongmyo Shrine and Jongmyo Shrine without a reservation in advance.
