A Guide to the Change of the Jongmyo Viewing System

We would like to thank the visitors for their interest and affection in World Heritage Jongmyo.

Jongmyo Shrine has been operated by changing its viewing system to a "time viewing system" where visitors can watch Jongmyo Shrine at a fixed time according to the guidance of a cultural property commentator since the 5th and 1st of 2010.

The change in the viewing system of Jongmyo Shrine has led to inappropriate and disorderly viewing behavior despite the sacred and solemn space, and many people have continuously pointed out and asked for correction.

Accordingly, after reviewing and collecting opinions on the change of the viewing system from 2008, the system was changed to the time viewing system to understand the meaning and value of Jongmyo Shrine to maintain its sacredness and dignity as the nation's best shrine.

In addition, due to the maintenance of the sacred and solemn atmosphere and spatial specificity of the Jongmyo Shrine, the number of visitors was inevitably limited to a maximum of 300 per session.

To compensate for the reduction of viewing opportunities due to the change in the Jongmyo viewing system, it is operated as a general viewing every Saturday, so if you want to visit freely, you can enjoy it more conveniently on Saturday.
