Gyeongbokgung Palace Open Fire Safety Experience Center / May 7, 2008 (Wed) to 8 (Thu)

The Gyeongbokgung Palace Management Office (Director Choi Byung-sun) and Jongno Fire Station (Director Jin Joon-ho) will hold the Open Fire Safety Experience Center and 119 Family Safety Experience Event for two days from May 7 (Wednesday) to 8 (Thursday) to mark Children's Day and Family Month.

The Sungnyemun fire spread awareness of the urgency of disaster prevention and fire fighting education, but there were relatively few opportunities to participate in education. Accordingly, the Gyeongbokgung Management Office and Jongno Fire Station intend to contribute to improving cultural property safety and other disaster response capabilities by providing an experiential fire practice venue where visitors (domestic/foreigners) to Gyeongbokgung Palace as well as cultural property staff participate.

The experience hall, which will be installed on the east side of Heungryemun Gate in Gyeongbokgung Palace, will provide virtual experiences of disasters accompanied by heat and smoke through mobile safety experience vehicles, experience basic CPR theory and practice, and learn how to use fire extinguishers through simulation. I hope many interested people will participate.
