2015 Changgyeonggung Humanities Course

The Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation operates humanities lectures as follows to find out precious cultural heritages through a high-quality palace lecture program. I hope many interested people will participate.

I. Program information

◦ Program Name: Changgyeonggung Humanities Course

◦ Location and schedule: Changgyeonggung Palace Tongmyeongjeon Hall

◦ Schedule: 5 times in total

- September 30 (Wed): 14:00 to 16:00 Foreign Policy of 19th Century Joseon (Jo Jae-gon, Senior Researcher at Sogang University)

- October 1st (Thu): 14:00 to 16:00 The dream of civilian politics - Dasan's life and thoughts (Chairman Park Seok-moo of Dasan Research Institute)

- October 2nd (Fri): 14:00 to 16:00 The process of change in Changgyeonggung Palace in the modern era (Professor Han Chul-ho of Dongguk University)

- October 3rd (Sat): 14:00 to 16:00 A space for harmony and communication, Changgyeonggung (Professor Lee Keun-ho of Myongji University)

- October 4th (Sun): 14:00 to 16:00 History of Shouts – Byeongja Horan (Hang Myung-ki, professor at Myongji University)

* Special performance: Daegeum performance (Oh Byung-ok)

◦ Target: Koreans / Recruitment on a first-come, first-served basis

◦ Contents: Humanities Lecture on Major Events of the Joseon Dynasty and Modern History

◦ Recruitment number: 200 (40 people per session)

◦ How to apply: Download the application form (attached file) and fill it out and receive an e-mail ([email protected] )

◦ Reception period: First-come, first-served applications from September 10th (Thursday)

◦ Contact: Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation Cultural Promotion Team (02-730-9924), 09:00-17:00

※ The reception desk is closed every Monday, so please contact us on a different day of the week.

III. Precautions

◦ When applying for the program, only the applicant himself can apply.

◦ Entrance fee to the palace is borne by the participants. (Free lecture participation fee)

◦ Gather at the event venue 20 minutes before the lecture begins, identify yourself, and receive textbooks.

◦ If you cancel the course due to personal reasons, make sure to call in advance.

◦ Please refrain from revealing clothes (shorts, sleeveless, short skirts, etc.).
