Special spring night viewing information (press release)

The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Na Sun-hwa) will hold a special spring night tour at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace from May 2 to May 14 (closed on May 12 and May 11).

The Cultural Heritage Administration conducts a special night tour every year so that many people can experience more colorful old palaces. In particular, this spring night special tour will be held during the "Gungjung Culture Festival" (May 2-10), a representative cultural heritage festival that showcases high-quality royal culture, where visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions along with the beautiful night view of the old palace in the city.

At Gyeongbokgung Palace, there will be Media Facade, where music and colorful light feast are held in the background of Heungryemun, Yongbicheonga, a traditional cultural performance that unravels King Sejong's affection and spirit of Hangeul creation with dance and music, and Listening to our music at the Palace.

In addition, Changgyeonggung Palace will prepare Tongmyeongjeon Picture Stimulation, which reproduces the story of Hyegyeonggung Hong in the palace as a picture stimulus, and Chundangji Sound Scenery, where the brightness and color of light that changes every moment depending on the sound or frequency.

The night special viewing time is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (the closing time of admission is 9 p.m.), and the National Palace Museum will also be extended to 10 p.m. (closed on May 4 and May 11) during the night special viewing period. The maximum number of visitors per day is 2,200 each at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace, and the purchase of tickets is limited to two per person. If you cannot make a reservation for a special night view of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace, you can use Deoksugung Palace (entered by 8 p.m., watched by 9 p.m., closed on Monday).

The general public can only make Internet reservations, and senior citizens aged 65 or older can only purchase tickets on-site or by phone, and foreigners can only purchase tickets on-site (no phone reservation). Internet reservations will start at 2 p.m. on the 23rd at "Auction Ticket" and "Interpark Ticket," and Internet and phone reservations can enter by distributing tickets if they present their ID cards at the ticket office on the day of viewing.

* On-site purchase: 250 sheets of Gyeongbokgung Palace (50 for the elderly, 200 for foreigners), 150 sheets of Changgyeonggung Palace (50 for the elderly, 100 for foreigners)

* Foreigners can only purchase on-site

Admission fees are the same as general viewing (3,000 won for Gyeongbokgung Palace and 1,000 won for Changgyeonggung Palace). Free viewing is only applicable to 50 people with national merit and disabilities, and visitors can enter on a first-come, first-served basis if they present their national merit certificate and disability certificate at the site without prior reservation.

On the other hand, special viewing at night in spring can also be participated as volunteer activities. From the 9th to the 22nd, the palace management office will openly recruit organizations and companies interested in cultural heritage volunteer work. Organizations and companies wishing to volunteer will be selected after self-examination by each palace management office if they apply to the website of the palace management center, and will be in charge of night viewing site patrols and guidance on viewing routes.
