Reproduction of the modern-day Cabinet meeting at Gyeongbokgung Palace, "Joseon Dynasty Court Inquiry Sangchamui"
The Gyeongbokgung Management Office (Director Choi Byung-sun) will recreate the "Gungjunggogyo Sangchamui" in which the king and major officials of the Joseon Dynasty discussed state affairs at Gyeongbokgung Palace from April 2 (Wednesday).
During the Joseon Dynasty, court inquiries were divided into Jeongji Inquiry held in January and December, Ail Inquiry or Jocham held every five days, and Sangcham held every day was called early morning inquiry, and late afternoon inquiry was called Ojo and late afternoon inquiry.
Sangchamui was a place where the king met the king every morning at a battlefield, and the king received reports from major officials to discuss state affairs, which allowed the king to concentrate on state affairs.
Organized by the Korea Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation, the event is a reenactment of King Sejong's Sangchamui, which was praised as a Seonggun, and consists of the king's girdle from Gangnyeongjeon, a sediment, to Sajeongjeon, and Gyeonghoeru, and 30 people, including the king and civil affairs officials, will appear.
The Gyeongbokgung Management Office plans to actively attract and support reenactment events related to Gyeongbokgung Palace in the future to promote and restore our valuable cultural heritage.
