- 7.30~8.11 / Gyeongbokgung Palace Summer Night Special Opening -

The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Na Sun-hwa) will implement the Gyeongbok Palace Summer Night Special Opening for 12 days from July 30 to August 11 (closed on August 5) to soothe the mind and body of the people tired of the heat and enjoy the atmosphere of the palace on a midsummer night.

The maximum number of visitors per day (1,390 on-site sales, 110 on-site sales) for the "Special Opening of the Summer Night at Gyeongbokgung Palace" is 1,500, and the admission fee is 3,000 won as during the day. The viewing time is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the closing time for admission is 9 p.m., an hour before the viewing is over. In addition, in order to provide viewing opportunities to many people, the purchase of admission tickets will be limited to "two tickets per person" (Internet, on-site). The open areas are Gwanghwamun, Heungnyemun, Geunjeongjeon, and Gyeonghoeru.

Internet reservations (general and senior citizens) are available from 2 p.m. on July 23 at Auction Ticket (http://ticket.auction.co.kr ). Senior citizens aged 65 or older and foreigners who have difficulty using the Internet during the sales period can book 55 phones each (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday, excluding Sundays and holidays), and the same quantity will be sold separately at the site. In addition, 50 persons with disabilities and national merit (free including one guardian) and infants and toddlers (under 6 years of age) accompanied by their parents can enter the site for free.

※ Persons with disabilities are limited to grades 1 to 3, and those with national merit are limited to grades 1

In addition, to practice cultural heritage 3.0 in the era of cultural prosperity, the National Palace Museum will open free of charge until 10 p.m. (closed on August 4 and 11) to meet high-quality Joseon royal relics in time for the night opening of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Through this, it is expected that all citizens will contribute to enjoying a life with culture.

When Gyeongbokgung Palace opens at night, it will check at the entrance to prevent visitors from bringing flammable substances or alcoholic beverages into the palace in cooperation with related agencies such as the National Police Agency, the National Emergency Management Agency, and Jongno-gu Office for order and safety management.

Meanwhile, organizations and companies interested in cultural heritage volunteer work will be openly recruited from July 1 to 20 to be active during the special opening period at night. Openly recruited volunteer groups and companies receive simple training such as the history of the old palace and safety management tips, and patrol the open site at night or guide the viewing route. Organizations and companies wishing to volunteer can apply to the Gyeongbokgung website (see below), and the organizations and companies that applied will be selected after self-examination.

In addition, Changgyeonggung Palace was originally planned to open at night for 12 days in July, but it was decided not to open this time in accordance with the schedule of the "Gungjung Culture Festival" (9.19. ~.28.), which will take place in September.

▶ Volunteer group application (pop-up window or banner at the website): Applications can be made from July 1 (Tue).
