2014 Lunar New Year Gyeongbokgung Palace Free Opening and Event Information
The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Na Sun-hwa) held a variety of cultural events during the Lunar New Year holiday, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Jongmyo Shrine, and Joseon Royal Tombs free of charge on Culture Day (last Wednesday of every month) and Lunar New Year Day (1.31).

As the last Wednesday of every month is designated and operated as "Culture Day" to realize "cultural prosperity" and spread culture in life, palaces, Jongmyo Shrine, and Joseon Royal Tombs will be opened free of charge on the last Wednesday of every month from 1.29th (Wednesday).
During the Lunar New Year holiday, "Ondol Experience and New Year's Greeting Event" will be held at Hamhwadang and Jipgyeongdang in Gyeongbokgung Palace for three days from January 30 to February 1. On January 30, Changgyeonggung Palace Sungmundang will hold a one-day invitation event for senior citizens with Muui Tak's single body for about 40 minutes to guide them to Changgyeonggung Palace, and then Changgyeonggung employees will raise a joint bow and distribute Sehwa**.

In addition, during the Lunar New Year holiday, you can enjoy folk games such as writing Korean wishes, sharing wishes, yutnori, and tuho at Hamnyeongjeon Hall in Deoksugung Palace, Yeongneung (Sejongwang Historic Site Management Office, Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do), Hyeonchungsa (Asan, Chungnam) and Chilbaekichong (Geumsan, Chungnam). Free admission for visitors wearing hanbok, which was originally only available on holidays, will be available at all times of the year from October 2013 to the 4 Grand Palace, Jongmyo Shrine, and the Royal Tomb of Joseon (excluding the sponsorship of Changdeok Palace).
