The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Byeon Young-seop) will hold a five-day night opening from May 22 (Wed) to May 26 (Sun) to enjoy the beautiful night scenery of Gyeongbokgung Palace in the middle of downtown Seoul with family, lovers, and colleagues.
Visitors are expected to enjoy the beautiful night atmosphere of the old palace, which combines national treasure-class cultural assets such as Geunjeongjeon Hall and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion with colorful night lights through the night opening of Gyeongbokgung Palace. About 40% of Gyeongbokgung Palace's total area, including Gwanghwamun, Heungryemun, Geunjeongmun, Geunjeongjeon, Sujeongjeon, and Gyeonghoeru, will be opened.
The night opening viewing time is from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the closing time for admission is from 9 p.m., an hour before the closing of the viewing. The admission fee is 3,000 won, the same as the daytime, and tickets can be purchased at the on-site ticket office until 9 p.m. during the night opening period. Those with disabilities, national merit, teenagers under the age of 18 and citizens over 65 can enter for free if they present their related ID cards.
In particular, from this night opening, in order to ease the difficulty of waiting in line for a long time to purchase tickets, the "Internet Pre-booking System" will be implemented along with on-site purchases of tickets.
If you access the Gyeongbokgung Palace website (http://www.royalpalace.go.kr ) through the Internet (excluding mobile), purchase and print tickets online through the pre-booking system, you can enter immediately without waiting time on the spot. Pre-booking on the Internet is available from 9 a.m. on May 15 to 4 hours before admission (2:30 p.m.) on the desired day of viewing.
