Gyeongbokgung Palace Hamhwadang and Jipgyeongdang Hall open for a fee

- From April to October, Gyeongbokgung Palace Hamhwadang and Jipgyeongdang Hall will be opened for a fee

The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Byeon Young-seop) will open Gyeongbokgung Palace Hamhwadang, Jipgyeongdang, and Changdeokgung Gajidang for companies, organizations, and individuals to use as small conference halls and educational halls from the 1st to October 31.

Hamhwadang and Jipgyeongdang in Gyeongbokgung Palace are buildings where King Gojong met foreign envoys, and are located between the sedimentation area and Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, so the scenery and buildings are beautifully harmonized, and they are well suited for high-quality meetings. Hamhwadang and Jipgyeongdang are connected by a hangout. In addition, Changdeokgung Palace Gajeongdang was built in 1925 for the rest of the king and queen, and is suitable for private meetings as it is currently located in a place that cannot be seen as a general viewing.

Applicants must prepare necessary furniture, etc., and only simple refreshments can be brought in. In addition, the use of the pavilion may be somewhat inconvenient due to the management of cultural properties. Apart from the entrance fee to the palace, the fee for each pavilion is 500,000 won for the first hour and 250,000 won for each additional hour.

The opening of the palace pavilion was promoted to revive the function of the pavilion and to allow Koreans and foreigners to experience the speciality of the palace, Korea's representative cultural heritage. Each pavilion can be used as a small group, such as meetings and education, to the extent that it does not affect the preservation and management of cultural assets and does not undermine the historical nature of the palace.

The use of the pavilion can be applied online at the Customer Support Center of the Cultural Heritage Administration (http://www.e-minwon.go.kr , application for permission to use the place). For more information, refer to the Cultural Heritage Administration's website (www.cha.go.kr , notice) or contact the Cultural Heritage Administration's Utilization Policy Division (tel 042-481-4746).
