[2012 Gyeongbokgung Palace Janggo, royal court, and royal food event] Participation information

The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Kim Chan) and the Seoul Cultural Heritage Research Institute (Chairman Lee Seung-kyu) will hold a Joseon Dynasty royal food exhibition, royal court and royal food making demonstration, and special lectures on royal food at Gyeongbokgung Janggo on the 26th and 27th.

Exhibition of royal cuisine of Joseon Dynasty

- Temporary: October 26, 2012 (Fri), 15:00 to 27 (Sat), 18:00

- Location: Gyeongbokgung Palace Janggo

- Contents: Exhibition of real life and related photos related to royal cuisine of the Joseon Dynasty

- Participation: Regular free viewing and viewing are free. (Excluding purchase of tickets to Gyeongbokgung Palace

Special lecture on royal cuisine

- Temporary: October 26, 2012 (Friday), 13:00-14:30 (90 minutes)

- Location: Gyeongbokgung Palace Hamhwadang

- Subject: Court Food in Literature

- Lecturer: Joo Young-ha (Professor of the Korean Studies Institute)

- Participation: 40 people on a first-come, first-served basis who make reservations in advance

궁중 A demonstration of royal court and court cuisine

- Time: October 27, 2012 (Sat), 11:00 to 12:00 (once), 13:00 to 14:00 (once)

- Location: Gyeongbokgung Palace Janggo

- Contents: Demonstrate and sample the making of royal paste (buckwheat noodles) and royal food (ssam setting)

- Demonstrator: Han Bok-ryeo (Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 38 of the Joseon Dynasty)

- Participation: 40 people on a first-come, first-served basis who make advance reservations each time (a total of 2 times, 80 people)
