Gyeonghoeru Traditional Performance Reminder to Light Up the Autumn Night of Gyeongbokgung Palace
The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Kim Chan) will stage the traditional performance "Gyeonghoeru Yeonhyang" at Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Gyeongbokgung Palace on September 17 and October 15 with the Korea Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation (Chairman Lee Se-seop).
Gyeonghoeru Yeonhyang was designed to promote the value and utilization of Gyeonghoeru through the development of high-quality traditional cultural contents as part of the making of the four living palaces and Jongmyo Shrine.
Along with the sound of nagak and nabal to mark the start of the performance, it consists of a variety of programs that combine work at Gyeonghoeru, the clear sound of Daegeum (Isaenggang) from Manseonsan Mountain in Gyeonghoeru Pond, the dance of Ohgomu and Seonyurak, and the boat song of Simcheongga (An Sook-seon) sung on a ferry.
The high-class traditional performance combined with the venue of Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, which held banquets for royal families and diplomatic envoys in the Joseon Dynasty, will be a special opportunity to enjoy the beauty and relaxation of Korea.
The performance on September 17 will also be held as a rehearsal, with invited performances by officials such as cultural artists, cultural heritage sponsors, and the travel industry, and the performance on October 15 will be held for the general public.
Applications for viewing are made online reservations on the website of the Korea Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation (www.chf.or.kr ), and 500 people will apply on a first-come, first-served basis from October 5.(To be paid)
