Notification of the opening of Gyeongbokgung Palace Youth Culture School in 2011

Gyeongbokgung Palace will hold the 2011 Gogung Youth Culture School from July 27th (Wednesday).

For elementary school students, reservations will be accepted on the Internet from 9 a.m. on July 20 (Wednesday) on the Gyeongbokgung Palace website. (Middle and high school students will receive on-site visits.)

□ Event Overview

Title: 2011 Gyeongbokgung Youth Culture School, Gyeongbokgung Palace

h Period: from 11.07.27 (Wed) to 11.08.17 (Wed), every Wednesday (four times in total) from 09:30 to 12:30 (3 hours)

Place h: Sujeongjeon (elementary school student), Charity Hall (middle and high school student)

참가 Participants: Elementary/middle/high school students (100 students each time), underprivileged people (within 20 students each time)

교육 Education contents: A theory and field trip on the history and major cultural heritage of Gyeongbokgung Palace

*The contents of the education may be changed to indoor theoretical education due to rain.

□ How to participate

○ Elementary school student. [Shortcut application for elementary school student

- Elementary school students can participate in the education only for pre-bookers on the Internet. (On-site application is not possible)

- Reservations will be accepted from 09:00 on July 20, 2011 (Wednesday) to 12:00 noon one day before the participating training day.

- Reservations can be closed early because there are many people who want to participate in the training.

- Internet reservations can be made at the Gyeongbokgung Palace website (www.royalpalace.go.kr ) (You can check it in the banner zone or the viewing information menu later)

- If you do not participate in the training, please cancel the reservation for other participants.

- One applicant can apply for up to two participants when making a reservation. (Please enter the grade of the participant.)

- Education is divided into lower grades (1st to 3rd graders) and upper grades (4th to 6th graders).

- Every week is operated with the same education program, so applicants only need to participate in the training once.

- If the reservation is not confirmed after the reservation, it is closed because there are many applicants at the same time.

- After making a reservation, you must check your reservation and print out your confirmation card to enter Gyeongbokgung Palace (education place).

- If you do not participate in the training after making a reservation, please cancel the reservation for other applicants.

[Elementary school student reservation]

○ Middle and high school students

- Middle and high school students can participate in the education by registering on-site visits.

- You can enter Gyeongbokgung Palace from 9 o'clock, and you will be accepted from 09:10 at the educational place (charity hall).

○ Operation of parent's class

- Admission to parents (guardians) accompanied by students is free.

- While the student is trained by the instructor, the parents will separately watch the commentary on Gyeongbokgung Palace.

○ The underprivileged

- The underprivileged apply separately by phone (02-3700-3912-5) or by fax (02-3700-3909).

- Please contact the management office in advance of the training day and inquire about the participation schedule.

※ If you arrive at the training place after 09:30 pm, you may not be able to participate in the training.

※ The education participation fee and school materials are free of charge, and a small participation souvenir will be presented.

※ Due to the hot weather, please prepare water and towels for individuals.
