★ Information on the opening of King Gojong's path
Gojong's road is a 120m long road that runs from Deoksugung Stone Wall Road to Jeongdong Park and the Russian legation,
The site of Seonwonjeon Hall in Deoksugung Palace became Korea's own land through land exchange with the U.S. in 2011, and it was restored by stacking stone pillars and fences on the border.
Deoksugung Seonwonjeon Hall, which was located near King Sejong-daero, was moved to Sueocheong-ja, north of the U.S. Embassy (currently 1-8 Jeong-dong) in 1901. After liberation, it was used as a site for Gyeonggi Girls' High School and the U.S. Embassy's dormitory in 2003.
According to an agreement between the South Korean and U.S. governments in 2011, it became a land owned by Korea, and accordingly, the "road of King Gojong" could be restored.
The Road of King Gojong, which will be unveiled this time, will first be opened on a trial basis for the month of August, and will be officially opened in October by supplementing the problems.
