Deoksugung Palace Pungryu September Performance Information

We will guide you to the traditional Korean traditional music performance "Deoksugung Pungryu" held at Deoksugung Palace in September. I ask for your interest and participation.

2. August program - "colour pansori"

September 7th / Pansori "Shimcheongga" by Changgeuk

1) From <Sangyeo Daemok> to <Shimbongsa Temple Baby Cat>

Shim Chung-mo and Kwak's wife died, and the people in the neighborhood went out for a bonus. Shim Bong-sa leaves the bier, returns home after burning herself from the grave, and goes out to the local wives as the day dawns.

2) <Baeubam> (The part where Simcheong falls into per capita water)

Simcheong is sold to her ancestors for her dark-eyed father and throws herself into Indangsu.

3) <Hit-and-pajeon>

Simbongsa meets Bbangpa after Simcheong throws himself into Indangsu. Shim Bong-sa lives in eye contact with Ppang-pa, and one day, when he hears that there is a Hwangseong blind feast at the official house, he goes up Hwangbong-sa, Ppang-pa, and Hwangseong to participate in the blind feast. While going up the fortress, Ppangpa runs away from the tavern with Hwang Bong-sa, and Sim Bong-sa laments himself after learning that Ppangpa ran away.

4) <Shimbongsa Temple's Eyes Open>

Simcheong becomes an empress and holds a blind feast for her blind father and waits for Simbongsa Temple. Simbongsa participates in a blind party and has a dramatic reunion with Simcheong. Simbongsa opens his dark eyes with Simcheong's extreme filial piety.

September 14 / Pansori "Yewa Today" by Gayageum Byeongchang

1) Western Steel Gayageum Sanjo Double Quartet

The Seogongcheol style Gayageum Sanjo, which connects the vein of Hansuk Guje, gives a very firm and solemn feeling, and features a powerful touch with a masculine feeling. In particular, according to the characteristics of the original Sanjo, the performance with strong improvisation is still handed down by master Kang Jeong-sook as a traditional educational method of oral deep-seam.

2) Gayageum Byeongchang Unit Price <Honamga>

Several geographical names in the Honam region were entered one by one, and the characteristics and scenery of the region were sung using the meaning of the geographical names, and the grandfather's to-do and spirit were expressed. Most of the current "Honamga" uses Shin Jae-hyo's lyrics, and about 50 places in the Honam region are used.

3) Gayageum Byeongchang <Shim Cheongga Middle School Open Your Eyes>

During Simcheongga, the women and women are reunited, and the part where Simbongsa Temple opens its eyes is played as Gayageum Byeongchang.

4) 25 String Gayageum Byeongchang <Gayasong>

"Gayasong" is a work in which Park Beom-hoon plays and sings Gayageum to a gayageum praise poem written by a poet and Buddhist philosopher, Professor Mok Jeong-bae. The form in which the performer plays and sings himself is similar to that of Gayageum Byeongchang, but the form and motif of the song are modern.

5) 25 String Gayageum Byeongchang Folk Song

The representative folk songs of Gayageum Byeongchang, <Flower Taryeong> and <Spring in My Hometown>, and <Milyang Arirang>, <Jindo Arirang> and <Arirang> will be played with 25 strings of Gayageum.

September 21st / "Five Pansori Generations" by Gayageum Byeongchang

1) Gayageum Byeongchang Unit Price <Gongmyeongga>

Gayageum Byeongchang is a song that sings a part of Pansori while playing Gayageum. The wealth and resonance of the world are vain like floating clouds, so let's give up our greed and enjoy a leisurely life using nature as a friend.

2) <The Gogocheon Stream in Sugungga>

It is one of the five pansori madang that have been handed down to date, and it is one of the representative eye songs of Sugungga, where Byeoljubu, a dragon palace loyalist, passes the world to save a rabbit's liver for the dragon king's disease.

3) Gayageum Sanjo Double Quartet (Sunggeumryeon Style)

Geumseongryeonryu is a mountain bird characterized by a clear composition of each group, such as Ujo, Geomyeonjo, Pyeongjo, and Drongjo, and a cheerful and bright melody that stimulates the listener. The tune we are performing today was reconstructed into a duet recorded by Earth Records in commemoration of the performance of Song Geum-ryeon at Carnegie Hall in the U.S. in 1972.

4) <Bangtaryeong in Simcheongga>

Until now, Bangataryeong among Pansori Simcheongga is a chorus that begins with "Eoyuhwa Bangayo," and songs such as the appearance of Banga and the pounding of red pepper chamber rice are sung by women in a village while Simbongsa Temple is on its name is Gayageum Byeongchang.

5) <Heungbo's Middle Ages of Swallowance Period'

A swallow flies into a poor Heungbo house and then falls from the swallow house and treats the injured swallow with utmost care, singing the process of the swallow flying from Gangnam to Heungbo house via China, Pyongyang, and Seoul with Park in its mouth to repay Heungbo's grace.

6) Daegeum Sanjo (Director Current)

Daegeum Sanjo of Jangwonhyeon Stream is one of the outstanding Sanjo of this era, where the low notes of Daegeum are fluent and explosive power is felt in the calm melody.

7) "Chunhyangga, Love Song" with Daegeum

Sarangga, a representative part of Chunhyangga, was composed by adding Daegeum Suseong-gak to Gayageum Byeongchanggok.

1) "Orijeong Farewell"

When Chunhyang and Lee Do-ryeong's affection gradually deepened, Lee Mong-ryong's father went up to Seoul thinking of Dongbu Seungji, so he set up a table with Hyangdan and went out to Orijeong for a farewell car. When you listen to the lyrics (sound), you can picture the parting scene in your head. The two exchanged a mirror with Ok Ji-hwan as a token and broke up. The rhythm structure is composed of sad sound (Jingye Turkeys) Jinyangjo, Jajinmori, and Jungmori.

2) <Awasa Sangbongmak>

Chun Hyang-mo is praying for the success of Lee Mong-ryong in the background, and he cries in despair when he sees Lee Mong-ryong, who has become a beggar. Hyang-dan dissuades Chunhyang-mo, who neglects Lee Mong-ryong, and Chunhyang-mo, Lee Mong-ryong, and Hyang-dan go to Ok to see Chunhyang. Jangdan is composed of Jinyang and Jungjungmori, and is a humorous membrane of Eosato and Wolmae.
