Announcement of the 2008 Cultural Heritage Photography and Retrospection Contest
In order to have an opportunity for all the people to look back on our precious cultural heritage, the Cultural Heritage Administration will hold a contest for photos and replies of cultural heritage as follows, so please participate a lot.

○ Photography and Review of Wooden Architectural Cultural Properties in Korea
※ Wooden buildings: Dangtap, palace, castle gate, temple, sau, seowon, Nujeong, Hyanggyo, government office, guest house, private house, etc. of great historical, academic, artistic, and technical value (Attachment 1 of the Enforcement Rules of the Cultural Heritage Protection Act)
※In addition to state-designated cultural properties such as national treasures, treasures, historical sites, and important folk materials, local cultural properties such as provincial tangible cultural properties are included

- However, the applicant is automatically registered as a policy customer of the Cultural Heritage Administration

○ Announcement of the award-winning work: December 3, 2008 (Wednesday)

▣ How to apply, etc
○ How to apply: Visit the http://playculture.chosun.com URL and apply online
○ Photography field: Photo type jpg (file size: minimum 2MB or more and 5MB or less)
○ Field of answering machine: 2,000 characters or more and 4,000 characters or less (letter form and size determined on the above site)
○ Precautions to take when applying
- (Photo application) Description of the photo is required, excluding the prize if there is no photo description
▪ Photo description: Cultural property name, Introduction, exploration, and filming date and time, commentary on works
- (Application for reply) The reply must contain at least two pictures (within five) with explanations and must comply with 2,000 to 4,000 characters
▪ If the standards for the number of photos and the amount of manuscripts set above are not met, awards are excluded
- When applying, please make sure to enter the phone number, e-mail address, and home address that you can contact, and if you cannot contact after selecting an excellent work, the prize may be canceled
- Applicants may apply in duplicate in the field of photography and reply, and if one or more works are selected, only the top grades in one field are recognized
▣ Contents of the awards: A total of 54 awards, including gold, silver, bronze, encouragement, and winning prizes
○ Gold Prize (1 photo and return each): Gift certificate 500,000 won / Director of Cultural Heritage Award
○ Silver Prize (2 pictures and return each): Gift certificates KRW 400,000 / Director of Cultural Heritage Administration Award
○ Statue (Photo and return two pieces each): Gift certificate KRW 300,000 / Director of Cultural Heritage Award
○ Encouragement Award (two photos and two returns each): Gift certificates KRW 200,000 / Director of Cultural Heritage Administration Award
○ Win-in (20 photos and returns each): Gift certificates KRW 100,000/-
* There is no separate award ceremony
▣ Points to Note
○ The copyright and copyright of the award-winning works shall belong to the Cultural Heritage Administration, and the submitted works shall not be returned
○ Photography and reply shall be made after January 1, 2008, and when the Cultural Heritage Administration requests evidence, it shall comply.
○ Winners of the photo section must submit the original photo after the announcement of their election, and if they do not submit it, measures to cancel the prize
○ Works already announced or works recognized for imitation are excluded from the examination, and administrative measures such as cancellation or redemption of prizes if defects in works are found after the examination
○ Details of awards, such as the number of winners, may be changed depending on the results of the examination
