Notification of additional opening of special night viewing at night in 2017 (Changgyeonggung Palace from August 13 to August 19)
The Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Na Sun-hwa) decided to expand the special night tour of the old palace, which was scheduled only for Gyeongbokgung Palace (August 20-September/12 days), to Changgyeonggung Palace, and to extend the opening period for six days.
Changgyeonggung Palace did not have a night tour schedule in August and September due to a preliminary survey to improve lighting, but it was decided to open for six days in August so that citizens and vacationers tired of the heat can enjoy the night view at the palace in the city.
The remaining night special tour schedules for each palace in 2017 are as follows.
Gyeongbokgung Palace: August 13th to September 2nd (closed on August 22nd and August 29th) and September 17th to 30th (closed on September 26th / September 15th)
Changgyeonggung Palace: August 13th to August 19th (6 days/closed on August 14th)
Special night viewing hours are from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in August ▲ from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in September ▲ If you cannot make a reservation for a special night viewing, you can use Deoksugung Palace (enter until 8 p.m. and close until 9 p.m.).
In addition, the National Palace Museum of Korea will be extended at night in time for the special night viewing period of Gyeongbokgung Palace (excluding August 18). Admission is free without advance reservation, and the outdoor yard of the museum can be used as a shelter space along with the exhibition of royal relics.
Visitors who want free admission to hanbok wearers make Internet reservations (1,000 people per day) in advance and wear the correct hanbok on the same day (with an ID card to identify themselves) You can only watch it if you exchange it for a ticket at the ticket office.
From August to September 2017, free tickets for night viewing at the Palace (paid) and free reservations for hanbok wearers will start at 2 p.m. on August 11 (Gyeongbokgung Palace) and September 8 (Gyeongbokgung Palace), respectively, at "Auction Ticket" and "Interpark Ticket." Reservations for paid tickets for the general public will be limited to four tickets per person, and free tickets for wearing hanbok will be limited to two tickets per person. Internet and phone reservations can enter after checking the identity of the reservation person at the ticket office on the day of viewing.

* On-site purchase: 550 sheets of Gyeongbokgung Palace (50 sheets for the elderly, 500 sheets for foreigners), 350 sheets of Changgyeonggung Palace (50 sheets for the elderly, 300 sheets for foreigners) / Foreigners can only purchase on-site
The Cultural Heritage Administration hopes that citizens who are tired of the heat will make special memories at the palace on a summer night through the expansion and opening of special viewing at the palace this summer, and plans to make more efforts to realize a happy life as a cultural heritage.
