The bed used by the last Empress of the Joseon Dynasty was repaired and released

The Changdeokgung Palace Management Office of the Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Ahn Jung-yeol) will complete the repair work of the bed used by Empress Sunjeonghyo (Rain of Emperor Sunjong) and hold a ceremony on July 17 and open it to the public at the Changdeokgung Palace Control Exhibition. Initially, the bed with the center of the mattress sitting down significantly and the cover corroded severely was repaired in nine months by Ace Bed Co., Ltd. (President Ahn Sung-ho), the nation's top bed manufacturer. The bed, believed to have been brought from abroad during the Korean Empire, is decorated with a dragon pattern and looks like a pair of tables and double chairs to be displayed together. When it was made during the dismantling process for repair, a yellow fabric that seemed to have been used as a mattress cover came out, and it was restored and repaired to its original form after an advisory meeting. The ceremony will be attended by Kim Chan, deputy director of the Cultural Heritage Administration, executives and advisors of Ace Bed Co., Ltd., and will be held in the order of conservative progress reports, thank-you plaques, bed disclosure, comparative exhibitions by participants and internal viewing of the Heejeong Party.
