Changdeokgung Rice Croping Event, Containing the Heart of a Monarch who cares for the People

- On May 18 (Thursday) at 11 a.m., Changdeokgung Okryucheon Cheonguijeong - Changdeokgung Management Office (Director Lee Moon-gap) of the Cultural Heritage Administration will hold a rice planting event at 11 a.m. on the 18th at the Changdeokgung Okryucheon Cheonguijeong. The Changdeokgung Rice Planting Event revived the meaning of the pro-Kyungrye ritual in which the king of the Joseon Dynasty created farmland in the palace to gauge the good harvest and bad harvest of farming that year.

Cheonguijeong Pavilion, located in the background of Changdeokgung Palace, is the only thatched house in Changdeokgung Palace, and it can be seen in Donggwoldo Island, which depicts Changdeokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace.

Only special visitors who enter Changdeokgung Palace at 10 a.m. on the day can participate in the event. In addition to the rice planting event, you can also see various rice varieties and various processed foods using rice with the support of the Rural Development Administration. The rice planting event held at Okryucheon Stream in Changdeokgung Palace, the path of summer when the greenery is getting thick, will be a meaningful time to plant rice with sincerity, recalling the king's mind thinking about the people.

In addition, it is expected to be a special place to experience the increasingly forgotten agricultural culture in the palace in the city center. The Cultural Heritage Administration plans to continue to discover and operate programs to experience high-quality palace culture together so that the palace can be reborn as a cultural space that anyone can enjoy and participate in.

We ask for the participation of many interested visitors.
