Rice Croping Event at the Royal Palace!
- October 23rd at Okryucheon Cheonguijeong -
The Changdeok Palace Management Office of the Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Ahn Jung-yeol) will hold a rice harvesting event to harvest our traditional rice (surah rice) planted on May 30 at Okryucheon Cheonguijeong in cooperation with Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. and the Rural Development Administration.
During the Joseon Dynasty, there was a ritual called Chin Gyeong-rae, where the king personally farmed and set an example to the people, and this Cheonguijeong rice-cutting event will provide an opportunity to feel the king's heart to appreciate the people's hard work. In addition, by exhibiting various Korean traditional rice, it is expected to be a pleasant time with Nongyo, which was sung to improve understanding of its own rural culture, reduce fatigue of labor, and increase efficiency.
The Cheonguijeong Rice Croping Event runs from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on the same day, and anyone who visits on the occasion of the free viewing day can attend.
