a rice planting event at the royal palace

The Changdeokgung Palace Management Office (Director Bae Joong-kwon) will hold a rice planting event at Okryucheon Cheonguijeong from 11 a.m. on June 5 (Friday) in collaboration with the Rural Development Administration (Director Heo Sung-ki). It will be a unique opportunity to experience the gradually forgotten agricultural culture at the palace in the city center by reviving the record of the Joseon Dynasty king personally creating farmland in the palace and planting rice with visitors. Okryucheon Cheonguijeong Pavilion, where the rice planting event is held, is located in the background of Changdeokgung Palace, so only special visitors sponsored by Changdeokgung Palace can observe and experience rice planting from 11 p.m. on the same day. In addition, with the support of the Rural Development Administration, it will be an opportunity to expand our understanding of agricultural technology and rural culture by exhibiting various rice varieties and processed foods that are not normally accessible in Okryucheon
